What changed
DOJ moved both deadlines in its 2024 rule back a year; the WCAG 2.1 AA standard didn't change. It may propose changes to the rule's substance meanwhile.
Who it affects
State and local governments, including schools, transit, courts and libraries, and the vendors that build their sites.
What to do
- Keep working toward WCAG 2.1 AA; the ADA duty didn't pause.
- Start with payments, forms and documents.
- Write WCAG 2.1 AA into vendor contracts.
